Patient experiences (reviews) FAQs

How Materia+ verifies and moderates experiences, along with the guidelines for submitting experiences on the platform.

Updated over 2 months ago

Does Materia+ moderate patient experiences?

Yes, we have a dedicated team responsible for reviewing all feedback to ensure it aligns with our guidelines (see below). This commitment guarantees that we are creating a system that benefits both patients and providers.

Why should I trust the patient experiences on Materia+?

Every verified Materia+ experience comes directly from patients who have personally interacted with the provider they booked their appointment with. To share their experience, patients must be logged into their Materia+ account and have had two separate appointments with a single provider, ensuring that the feedback is genuine.

At Materia+, our aim is to provide you with a trustworthy platform that offers a balanced view of each provider. We accomplish this by publishing a wide range of experiences, including both positive and negative feedback. This way, you can rely on our resource as a representative and accurate source of information.

Does Materia+ only show positive experiences?

We display both positive and negatives experiences from verified patients.

I submitted an experience. Why hasn’t it been posted yet?

Your submission may take up to three days to be reviewed before it is published. Please note that some providers have opted not to display their patient experiences on Materia+. However, don’t hesitate to leave feedback; both Materia+ and the provider will still receive your experience, and we truly want to hear about it.

Are there instances where you won’t post my experience?

Yes, your experience may not be posted or removed if it violates these guidelines:

  • Profanity and offense: We won't publish any content containing profanity, vulgarity, or hate speech that could be considered offensive.
  • Personal information: To protect your privacy, we won't post any experiences that disclose personally identifiable information, such as full names, phone numbers, email addresses, etc.
  • Pricing specifics: If you have a comment about the cost of a provider's services, that's fine, but we won't publish details about insurance coverage or prices tied to specific insurance providers. However, you can mention cash pay costs, concierge fees, cancellation fees, parking, and other fees that are not dependent on insurance.
  • Treatment or diagnosis accuracy: While we encourage you to describe your experience with a provider's care, we can't verify medical claims, so we won't publish information about the accuracy of their treatment or diagnosis.
  • Promotional content: To keep our patient experiences relevant and on-topic, we won't post content that promotes or endorses unrelated websites, products, topics, or items not related to the patient experience.

Can I edit my experience?

Once you submit an experience, and it gets approved, you cannot edit it. However, you can request the removal of your posted experience. To initiate this process, please reach out to the service team.
